A few important things to know before your Hey Girl photoshoot. Nothing heavy — just clarity, care, and keeping things smooth for everyone involved.

Booking, Payment & Group Details

To secure a Hey Girl photoshoot, one person books and pays the full session fee upfront. This confirms your session date and time.

During the booking process you'll be asked to provide contact details for each girl in your group so everyone can be sent their individual client intake form before the shoot.

Please note:

  • Full payment is required to confirm your booking

  • The booking contact is responsible for providing accurate details for each participant

  • Group size must stay within the booked package

  • All participants must complete their individual intake form prior to the session. Girls who have not returned a completed form will be unable to participate on the day.

  • If fewer people attend on the day, pricing remains based on the original booking

  • Additional people cannot be photographed without prior approval

WHAT TO WEAR

Getting the look right as a group is part of the fun — and we make it easy. After booking, every girl will be emailed the Hey Girl Style Guide so the whole group can decide on their vibe together before the day.

The short version: think coordinated, not matching. Soft neutrals, whites, blues, and earthy tones all photograph beautifully together in natural light. The Style Guide covers everything else — consider it your group's getting-ready starting point.

LOCATION

Hey Girl sessions take place at beautiful outdoor locations across the Sunshine Coast from Caloundra to Noosa — think beaches, dunes, and natural coastal settings that let the light do what it does best. Once your booking is confirmed, your group's location will be shared along with everything else you need to know before the day.

Sessions, Changes & Cancellations

Life happens — and we get it. Here's how we handle changes so everything stays fair for everyone.

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before your session will receive a credit toward a future Hey Girl booking

  • Cancellations within 14 days of your session are non-refundable

  • A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to reschedule, only one reschedule available per booking (except in the case of weather).

  • Rescheduling requests with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the session fee

  • No-shows forfeit the full session fee

  • Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled by the photographer if weather conditions aren't suitable on the day. Your full payment will be held as credit toward your rescheduled session date.

If someone in the group can no longer attend, the session will still go ahead as planned and the original package price remains unchanged. Friendships shift — and that's okay. The focus is on capturing the group as they are on the day.

In the unlikely event that I'm unable to photograph your session due to illness or emergency, your booking will be rescheduled within 30 days or fully refunded.

Photographing young women is a privilege we take seriously. Here's exactly how we handle consent, privacy, and the sharing of images. Your trust matters deeply — especially when photographing children and teens.

For anyone under 18, parent or guardian consent is required prior to the session. Each participant's intake form includes a simple option to opt out of image sharing. Unless we receive an opt-out request before the session, Hey Girl retains the right to use images on our website, social media, and marketing materials. Sharing real sessions is how other friendship groups discover us and how this little community grows.

If you'd prefer your daughter's images to remain completely private, simply indicate this on her intake form prior to the session. We will honour every opt-out request without question and those images will never appear anywhere publicly.

It's the responsibility of each parent or guardian to submit their preference before the session date. Preferences cannot be updated after image delivery.

Image Delivery

Your gallery will be ready within 14 days of your session. Each girl receives her own personal digital gallery containing her individual portraits, any duo or group moments she appears in, and the full set of group shots from the day.

Galleries are delivered via a private link to each participant or participant's parent/guardian. Images are available to download for 10 days from delivery — please save your images within this window as galleries are removed after expiry.

Hey Girl is not responsible for images once they have been delivered and made available for download.

Editing & Care

A few things to expect:

  • Images are edited in a natural, consistent Hey Girl style

  • No heavy retouching or body alteration is applied

  • Final image selection is photographer-curated

During sessions, safety, comfort, and respect always come first. Hey Girl reserves the right to end a session if behaviour or safety becomes a concern.

Copyright

All images created during your Hey Girl session remain the copyright of Hey Girl Photography. Your gallery is licensed for personal use — think printing, sharing with family, and posting on your own social media. Commercial use of any image requires prior written permission.
